Important resources for TFM members

Here you will find the most important documents for our members: our songs and our rules. Special mention to the board of 2024 (especially Caja de Pandora, Puede, Mendigo, and Rasalas) for getting this edition of the cancionero perfected. In addition, shoutout to Guaraná, Mendigo, and Puede from the 2024 board, En Línea from the 2023 board, and Cepeú from the Tuniña for their work and advice in shaping the first edition of our constitution.

Timeline and tuna member biographies

This section is to celebrate the many milestones of our group, and to give everyone an introduction to those of our tuna who have ever received a mote.

For convenience, I have separated us by the year that we joined the tuna, forming generations. Still, I know that the bonds that are formed through our tuna journey can transcend these groups. It’s unfortunately not possible for us to credit everyone who has contributed to making us who we are, but we love all of you. Even if you didn’t get a mote, once a tuna, always a tuna.

Here’s to all of us, from those who started it all, to those who built a thriving community, to the newest members who shape our future.

    We had our first ever paid performance, at UCM (someone fact check me lol)

    We attended the Eindhoven Certamen 2019 as novatas of the Tuna Femenina Universitaria de Sevilla, and were awarded the prize “Novatas Más Simpática”

    Novatolimpia 2020, testing the limits of COVID-19 and our immune systems

    Novatolimpia 2021 was very fun and definitely not unhinged

    Our first visit to the Inmaculada in Sevilla, where we were invited to perform with TFUS. We were on Spanish TV! Did we sound good? You will never know.

    We accompanied TdM as their novatas to the Certamen Internacional de Tunas Costa Cálida 2022

  • MAY 2022
    Our Tuna Novata finally became a TUNA!

    Our padrinos, the Tuna Universitaria de Maastricht baptised us, and Leviathan, Barbara, Teniente, Salsa, Puede, RepetiPipa, and Monte San Pedro became the first of our tuna to receive their becas.

    Beca baptism of the most incredible Influenza!

  • SEP 2022
    We performed at the Eindhoven Noche de Tunas 2022, our first certamen as an established tuna, where we were awarded the prizes “Mejor Tuna” y “Mejor Pandereta” (the latter for the incredible Meticulosa, Ratatouille, y Colibrí)

    Beca baptism of the marvellous Mendigo, Armadillo, Enlínea, and Meticulosa!

    We performed at the Certamen Internacional de Tunas Cazorla Pueblo, where we were awarded the prizes “Mejor Solìsta” for Caja de Pandora y “Mejor Baile de Capa” for En Línea

  • DEC 2023
    Puede and Portavoz performed with TFUS at the Inmaculada 2023 to seduce all of Spain (and the tuniña)

  • APR 2024
    We performed at the Certamen Internacional de Tunas Costa Cálida 2024 (Murcia) where we were awarded the prize “Premio a la Musicalidad” (musical arrangement, stage set up, and song storytelling)

  • SEP 2024
    We performed at the Eindhoven Certamen 2024, where we were awarded the “Mejor Tuna” (3rd) prize!

  • SEP 2024
    The amazing Patona and Caja de Pandora received their becas at the certamen—with Patona being the last of our members to have an official padrino from TdM.

  • DEC 2024
    We performed at the Inmaculada 2024 with TFUS again, with a memorable pasacalle through the old streets of Sevilla.

    Our wonderful Ratatouille, Guaraná, and Rasalas received their becas!

    Novatolimpia 2025: the first to have all four tunas in the Netherlands participating.

A little insight from Patona about her mote: "My mote was invented by our hermanos from the Tuna de Maastricht, and is a word derived from Pato (duck) 🦆, which over time became Patita, or Pat, or Toni. Like ducks that go by land, water and air, I also love different things, like reading, writing, climbing trees and rocks, jamming with others, busking and planning folk tunes, going on adventures, sometimes clumsily… sometimes rather gracefully."
